Finding your way around

A
Written by Andy

There are two navigations, and they answer different questions. The left rail moves you between clients and returns. The tabs inside a return move you between views of the same register.

The left rail

Collapsed to icons by default. The toggle at the top expands it, and the shortcut is ⌘ \. Expanded, the rail shows your firm name at the top and groups its items under two headings.

Under Main:

Dashboard

Import shortcuts, and your returns grouped by client, with search, Drafts / Importing / Done filters, and a recently-worked-on sort. Alt+H.

Clients

Every client, with entity count and current asset and cost totals scoped to each entity's latest return. Alt+C.

Under Quick links:

Reports

Depreciation reports: schedules, disposals, roll-forward, and state reports. Alt+P.

Form 4562

Alt+F.

Form 4797

State forms

Every return that services a state, one row each, filterable by state.

The bottom of the rail holds Settings, Help & support, and About, and your initials open a menu with Profile and Logout.

Reports, Form 4562, and Form 4797 open on a Select Return dropdown and then show the same output you get on the matching tab inside a return. That is why they are quick links: the shorter route when you already know which form you want.

The tabs inside a return

Open a return and you get its breadcrumb, an entity header with Total Assets, Total Cost Basis, and Annual Depreciation tiles, and nine tabs. The depreciation tile names the year it is totalling.

The top of an open return: the breadcrumb, the entity header with the Draft/Done toggle and a return dropdown reading 2025 · CO · Done, the three summary tiles, and the nine tabs with Assets active

The Form 4562 tab generates when you open it. There is no build step to kick off first.

Moving between years and entities

Next to the entity name, a dropdown lists that entity's returns newest first, labeled year, state, and status, like 2026 · NC · Draft. That is how you switch tax years without going back out to a list.

The Return actions menu beside it holds Edit return, Roll over to next year, Delete return, and Edit entity.

Settings

Firm-level, six cards: Subscription & Billing, Users & SSO, Firm Settings for tax software exports and AI features, Webhooks, Audit Log, and Data Export for a full ZIP of your firm's data. See What's in Settings.
